The College of Education, Health, and Human Services has an opening for a Part-time Research Assistant (temporary).
The Department of Health & Human Services seeks an advanced undergraduate student or recent graduate to support the research project, Cohort Analysis of Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Cognitive Impairment Among Older Adults. This study explores social inequalities in cognitive impairment among U.S. adults aged 50 and older, analyzing age-period-cohort variations with large-scale public data from 2004 to 2023. We are seeking a student to assist with conducting literature reviews, supporting data collection, generating descriptive statistics, proofreading, and preparing the manuscript for publication. This position provides an opportunity to gain insight into the graduate-level research process, from learning advanced quantitative methods to deepening understanding of health disparities and public health studies.

- Conduct literature reviews on topics related to cognitive health disparities and aging populations.
- Assist with data collection and management.
- Perform descriptive statistical analyses. Help proofread and edit documents for publication.
Required Qualifications*
- Advanced undergraduate standing or recent graduate in majors from Health & Human Services, public health, sociology, statistics, or a related field.
- Interest in aging and health disparities research.
- Familiarity with data analysis or willingness to learn statistical software (such as R or Stata) is preferred.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
