Job Summary

As part of the Ross Central Events team, you will work with the Ross Event Managers to provide operational and logistical event planning support to the Ross community. You will provide exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, students, and visitors of Ross. You will report to the Director of School Events, with oversight and coordination of assignments from the Senior Event Manager.

The Ross Central Events team provides expert strategic, operational and logistical event planning guidance and support to various departments across the Ross community including, but not limited to, school-wide events such as Commencement, high profile speaker events, Ross advisory board meetings, alumni events, student conferences, annual award events.
Upcoming special projects will include the Ross School of Business LA Campus Grand Opening celebrations in calendar year 2026.

Responsibilities*

Events Administration

  • Maintain event budgets, track expenses, submit invoices for payment.
  • Create event materials including name tags, name tents, signage.
  • Maintain guest lists, create and distribute email announcements.
  • Respond to inquiries by email and phone from within the school, campus community and general public and redirect.
  • Maintain procedure information and shared resource materials for events.
  • Create templates and tools to help plan basic events as a shared resource for all event planners.
  • Maintain the Ross events planner (REP) website.
  • Assist with speaker research and contracts.
  • Schedule appointments and assemble necessary meeting materials.
  • Handle purchase card expense reports and travel arrangements for the team as needed.

Events Coordination

  • Assist event managers with planning operational and logistical aspects of events including obtaining quotes, facility and layout recommendations and vendor coordination.
  • Provide support for events both virtual and in-person.
  • Special projects as needed.

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working with a diverse group of people
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise direction with oversight provided by Senior Event Manager

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Behaviors that will be assessed during the hiring process

  • Assistance in event planning processes, including logistics, budgeting, vendor communication
  • Familiarity with purchasing and payment procedures
  • Understanding of basic expense reconciliation and budget tracking principles
  • Proficiency with tools for communication and event promotion (e.g., email distribution, content management systems, shared calendars)
  • Knowledge of guest list management, invitation etiquette, and RSVP tracking

Working conditions / Physical requirements

This position involves regular communication with coworkers both in person and virtual. The position is primarily located in an office setting, although regular movement through campus buildings may be required as part of this role contributes to support of event planning, setup, and facilitation.

Additional Information

Salary Information:

The posting range for this position is $41,500 - 48,800. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
