Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Assistant HR Director, as the Human Resources Manager (HRM) you will be a partner for a portfolio of staff units (~200 staff) collaborating with unit and school leadership to provide guidance, interpretation and consultation on policies and practices throughout the employee lifecycle from hiring staff to offboarding staff. You will collaborate with the Talent Management Specialist and the other Human Resource Manager to implement the training and development strategy for staff including facilitating training sessions. You will ensure prompt, efficient and professional responses to employee relations issues and draw upon experience and knowledge and provide technical guidance to other HR staff members.

Responsibilities*
HR Business Partner 75%
- HR partnership for assigned sub-units:
- Workforce Planning: partner with unit leaders and/or managers to identify and address workforce gaps and structural needs
- Hiring: partner with unit managers on development of job descriptions for open positions, identifying appropriate job classifications based on assessment of skills required for roles, provide guidance and recommendations for candidate selection process, support other recruiting activities.
- Staff Development: consult with employees regarding growth opportunities or movement.
- Performance Management: consult with managers and/or supervisors regarding performance concerns; design and help implement development plans, training plans, and corrective actions.
- Employee Relations: coach managers, supervisors and employees on HR guidelines, employee engagement, leadership style, coaching and counseling process, conflict resolution, interpersonal communications and team interaction
- FMLA/ADA: work directly with Work Connections on staff medical leaves of absence and work accommodations.
- Investigations: conduct internal investigations
- Offboarding: conduct exit interviews, analyze feedback, provide continuous improvement recommendations to business units.
- Identify key performance indicators to analyze and make recommendations to unit leaders to act on their goals and priorities.
Training and Development 20%
- Partner directly with Talent Management Specialist and other Human Resource Manager on the implementation of the development strategy for staff.
- Facilitate workshops focused on staff growth including onboarding, performance management, manager effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Manage the performance evaluation process (Mindful Performance) for assigned units; including ongoing communications, participation and program effectiveness
Other 5%
- Maintain knowledge of university benefits and legal requirements.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance HR operations.
- Update HR systems and optimize data reporting.
- Support cross-departmental collaboration and special projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Five (5) years of progressive human resources management or business partner experience, with demonstrated expertise in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and employee engagement
- Two (2) years experience in facilitating training offered to business units, stakeholders, or organizational leaders
- Experience collaborating with or supporting individuals in leadership or decision-making roles across various organizational levels
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Suite applications
- Working knowledge of relevant federal and state employment laws

Salary Information:
The posting range for this position is $74,400 - $96,200. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
