Job Summary

PFANS is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Application System Analyst/Programmer Intermediate to support and enhance the CBORD Nutrition and Food Service Suites. This position is critical for managing application programming, system integration, security administration, documentation, technical support, and data analytics to ensure high-quality patient nutrition and food service operations.

Responsibilities*

Application and System Maintenance

  • Maintain, monitor, and enhance the CBORD Nutrition Services Suite (including room service, tray monitor, clinical applications, and diet office automation).
  • Support and update the CBORD Food Service Suite, including purchasing, issuing, inventory management, production scheduling, and general item maintenance.
  • Administer application configurations, including interface settings, diet orders, room and tray monitor settings, and food item recoding.

Reporting and Data Analysis

  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to support operations, decision making, and compliance.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvement in food and nutrition services.
  • Present findings, summaries, and actionable insights to leadership and departmental teams as needed.
     

System Integration and Technical Project Support

  • Maintain interfaces between CBORD and other hospital systems (including MiChart and university procurement systems).
  • Investigate, resolve, and communicate any interface or program issues and collaborate with HITS IT and other partners on technical projects and system troubleshooting.
     

Database Security Administration

  • Serve as the CBORD Database Security Administrator, managing user accounts, user access, auditing compliance, and maintaining secure records in accordance with HIPAA policy.
  • Process user onboarding and termination requests, maintain user binders, and communicate access information to stakeholders.
     

Software Upgrades and Testing

  • Code, test, and debug updates and upgrades to the CBORD system.
  • Maintain and update the test server environment, perform compatibility testing for new software or operating system releases, and serve as a liaison with IT for system patches and upgrades.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting

  • Provide comprehensive technical support to the PFANS department, addressing user requests and system issues promptly.
  • Support the creation and management of SharePoint Forms and Power Automate workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Citizen printers used throughout the department, ensuring continuous and efficient operation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external IT teams to resolve software, hardware, and integration challenges effectively.
     

Training, Documentation, and Communication

  • Develop, update, and distribute technical documentation, training guides, and process manuals.
  • Provide training and support to departmental users, back up colleagues as needed, and ensure knowledge transfer for updates and upgrades.
  • Communicate program modifications, compliance updates, and new features to relevant staff and management.
  • Ensure all documentation, menu information, coding lists, support manuals, and related reference materials are kept current and accessible to the team.

Quality Assurance and Process Improvement

  • Regularly review patient and menu data for accuracy, compliance, and pricing discrepancies.
  • Participate in ongoing departmental quality improvement initiatives and proactively identify and implement opportunities for operational efficiency.
     

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, nutrition, dietetics, food service management, or related fields granted by an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • Experience using CBORD Food Service Management and Nutrition Services Suite application. 
     

Desired Qualifications*

  • Proficient in using CBORD Room Service Choice.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of applications programming including software testing, coding, and debugging.
  • Skilled in programming SharePoint forms and developing Power Automate workflows.
  • Background in menu creation and database management.
  • Experience developing technical documentation and end-user training materials.
  • Experience in data analysis to support operations, decision making and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices and process improvement initiatives in healthcare or food service environments.



Modes of Work
