Responsibilities*

Basic Function and Responsibility:

To provide basic assistance and support to the Choi Research Program. This is a temporary, part-time position suitable for a student interested in gaining experience in clinical research.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with subject recruitment: Help identify, screen, and enroll potential subjects under supervision.
  • Support data collection: Assist with gathering and organizing patient and laboratory data for research purposes.
  • Help with specimen collection and management: Learn and assist in collecting and processing specimens ensuring they are properly labeled and stored.
  • Data entry: Enter provided data into research databases and learn to maintain data accuracy.
  • Assist with study preparation: Help prepare materials and organize space for study-related activities.
  • Support teamwork: Maintain good communication with the research team and be a positive presence in interactions with study subjects and families.
  • Participate in meetings: Attend team meetings to gain insights into the progress of research projects and learn about clinical research procedures.

 

Supervision Received:

Supervision will be provided by a designated mentor or study coordinator. The student is expected to show initiative in learning and applying new skills while seeking help when needed.

Required Qualifications*

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in high school or higher level ed (e.g., undergraduate, graduate) with an interest in science or healthcare.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new software.
  • Good communication skills; able to follow instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and participating in research activities.

Desired Qualifications*

Desired Qualifications:

  • Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare or research.
  • Basic understanding of medical or scientific terminology from coursework or extracurricular activities.
