Job Summary
This position is for an undergraduate Psychology intern taking the internship course with Dr. Roger Loeb this Fall 2024 semester. The student will complete 80 hours for the 3 credit hour course. The student must be enrolled in the FIELD WORK: PSYCHOLOGY INTERNSHIP, PSYCH 485 course.
Responsibilities*
- Engage in Career Services Career Peer training (end of August).
- Shadow coaching appointments, make appropriate recommendations, and under staff supervision, facilitate and co-explore with UM-Dearborn students on topics, such as resume and cover letter writing, mock interviews, job search strategies, and major and career exploration.
- Interact with current students and alumni through coaching appointments, social media, and by attending Career Services events and career readiness workshops.
- Promote Career Services programs, events, and resources.
- Learn about self-inventories, such as Focus 2 and the Clifton Strengths assessment. Observe the interpretation of self-inventory results with students and have the opportunity to explore personal results during supervision.
- Provide feedback on career coaching materials, job preparation resources, search tools, and more.
- Conduct research for career resource guides and support other Career Services special projects.
- Opportunity to attend, support, and participate in Career Services staff meetings, professional development events, job fairs, employer information sessions, and networking events.
- Support office data collection and learn how data is analyzed and utilized in a professional environment.
- Other duties will be assigned as needed.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and UM-Dearborn student self-service.
