Job Summary
Michigan Dining is seeking 2 temporary assistant managers, located at East Quad and South Quad.
Responsibilities*
10% Develop and adhere to standard operating procedures
15% Train and develop employees to provide great service to guests.
10% Maintain a clean and organized operation at all times.
25% Ensure the operation is closed down properly each night.
25% Learn and perform general management duties, such as sales reporting, cash handling, ordering, payroll, and inventory
10% Enforces food and workplace safety standards.
5% Performs other duties assigned by management.
Required Qualifications*
- Associates Degree or equivalent experience
- Two years of experience in a restaurant or cafe setting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications*
- Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality, business, culinary arts or a related field
- Management Experience
- Experience with cash handling procedures

Working Conditions
Must be available to work afternoons/evenings.
East Quad Shift: 1pm - 9:30pm with Sunday/ Monday OFF
South Quad Shift: Sunday, Monday & Thursday 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Friday & Saturday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm with Tuesday & Wednesday off.
Physical Requirements
Able to maintain a static position for extended periods. Able to assist with events and service in our dining halls, cafes, markets and at catering events as needed. Ability to move and transport objects weighing 25-30 pounds.
Additional Information
This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.
Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment and applicants for this position will not be sponsored for work visas.
Relocation will not be offered for this position.
