Job Summary

The Pletcher lab in the Department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Lab Tech Associate who works well independently for a basic research position managing media preparation and duties associated with husbandry of Drosophila melanogaster.

Responsibilities*

The laboratory assistant will be responsible for key aspects of Drosophila husbandry, including media preparation, materials handling, dispensing, inventory, and distribution. This individual will manage the preparation of detailed protocols associated with a variety of media composition; and interactions with other laboratory personnel. This individual will similarly manage sample preparation and may provide research support for collaborations. The candidate is expected to work independently, and may also work alongside a senior technician to perform data collection.

Required Qualifications*

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented.

Desired Qualifications*

Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desired but not required.

Work Schedule

M-F, days.

Pay range: TBD depending on experience.

Background Screening
