Job Summary
Primary duties entail serving as a student assistant under the supervision of the Administrative Assistant. The student assistant will have a secretarial desk located in the Dean's suite and will be the official greater of students, staff, and faculty who visit the office. As such, the student assistant must have a positive, welcoming attitude and dress in attire that is office appropriate. Under direct supervision, the student assistant provides service to those calling the main campus phone number, including staff, faculty, students, potential students, alumni, parents, vendors, and campus visitors. Work is regularly reviewed and may entail detailed instructions. Assignments have limited use of discretion and judgement.
Responsibilities*
The job duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Greet and assist students, staff, and faculty who visit the office with various inquiries
Answer the phone and take messages for personnel
Accept and distribute office mail
Deliver campus mailings
Use copy machine to fax, scan, and make copies as requested by the Dean's office
Maintain stock of office supplies and place supply orders on Marketsite
Maintain cleanliness and organization of office public spaces
Set up catering/hosting for events and clean up after events conclude
Update and organize the CASL bulletin boards
Publicize college events by creating, addressing, and posting materials on the bulletin boards around campus
Maintain files in DropBox, and Google Drive
Type letters as requested for Dean's personnel
Provide support for special projects given by Dean's personnel
Required Qualifications*
The student assistant must be an undergraduate work study student. The CASL Dean's Office is requiring the following job skills or qualities:

Strong customer service skills (must be a people person, over the phone and in person)
Verbal and written communication skills
Confidentiality
Time management
Ability to work well as part of a team
Computer skills, including a proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Office and accurate and moderately fast typing skills
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently
Dress in appropriate office attire
Must be dependable with excellent attendance and no tardiness. Must have availability to work during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM).
