Job Summary

The Department of Cariology, Restorative Sciences, and Endodontics (CRSE) at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry is seeking a dynamic and highly organized Administrative
Assistant. This position is central to the department's success, ensuring smooth operations that directly support faculty, students, patients, and research activities. You will play a vital role in
maintaining compliance with accreditation standards, facilitating faculty onboarding and credentialing, and helping the department deliver on its mission of clinical excellence, education,
and discovery.

Responsibilities*

In this role, you will:


- Support Faculty and Adjunct Appointments - Coordinate onboarding, credentialing, and annual reappointments while assisting with visa/immigration paperwork for visiting scholars.


- Keep the Department Running Smoothly - Manage calendars, directories, communications, and departmental records; process invoices and procurement orders; track professional development activities.


- Coordinate Meetings and Events - Schedule faculty and departmental meetings, prepare materials, and provide support for continuing education and postgraduate programs.


- Be the Go-To Resource - Serve as administrative support to the Department Chair and a point of contact for faculty, students, and visitors, providing timely support and maintaining a welcoming, professional office environment.

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
     
  • 4 years of administrative experience, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting.
     
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
     
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn U-M systems.
     
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a proven record of good attendance, strong attention to detail, deep dedication to customer service, and a team approach to work.

Desired Qualifications*

- Associate or bachelor's degree.


- Experience supporting faculty affairs, visa processing, or academic governance.


- Familiarity with compliance and accreditation processes.


- A customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving skills.

Work Schedule

Because this position serves in part as the first point of contact when you enter the administrative office suite, the schedule will be in the office with a possible 1-day working remotely after 90-day orientation to the position.

Background Screening
