Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable individual to assist with manual mail preparation and document handling. The Mailroom Assistant will be responsible for tasks such as hand folding, inserting, sorting, and collating materials to ensure accurate and timely distribution.

Responsibilities*

  • Hand Fold: Neatly fold documents, letters, and other printed materials according to specified guidelines and requirements.
  • Hand Insert: Place folded documents and additional enclosures (such as flyers, reply cards, or inserts) into envelopes by hand, ensuring all items are properly included.
  • Hand Sort: Organize and separate materials by specific categories (address, department, etc.) to facilitate efficient processing and delivery.
  • Hand Collate: Assemble multiple pages or items in the correct order and sequence as instructed; ensure complete sets are prepared before further processing.
  • Perform quality checks to confirm accuracy and completeness of all assembled mailings.
  • Maintain workspace organization and adhere to established procedures for handling confidential materials.
  • Report any discrepancies or issues to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Assist with other mailroom or administrative duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work efficiently with repetitive manual tasks.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous experience in a mailroom or similar environment is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Dexterity with hands for folding and sorting tasks.
  • Occasional moving of light boxes or stacks of documents.
