What You'll Do
As the Senior Director of Employer Relations and Business Development, you will help advance the Career Development Office's mission by developing and executing a comprehensive employer engagement and business development strategy. You will work with a team to steward relationships with companies, alumni, and partners to maximize recruiting opportunities, strengthen corporate partnerships, and position Ross students for top career outcomes across all degree programs. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a senior member of the Career Development Office leadership team and directly manage a team.

Responsibilities*
Strategic Leadership & Planning (40%)
- Ensure best practices in recruiting and employer engagement and align the work with
our curricular strengths, industry priorities and organizational programs. - Build relationships and collaborate with faculty, academic program offices, Ross Centers
& Institutes, and our Development function. - Establish industry-specific strategies to anticipate market shifts, expand opportunities,
and strengthen employer pipelines. - Contribute to long-term strategic planning, operational decision-making, and innovation.
Team Leadership & Collaboration (25%)
- Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and professional development for the employer
relations and business development team. - Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation to achieve goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including career coaching, program offices, admissions,
and marketing, to deliver an integrated approach to employer engagement and student
success. - Represent Ross and the Career Development Office at professional associations,
employer roundtables, peer-school consortia, and industry events.
Business Development & Employer Partnerships (25%)
- Design and implement a business development strategy to expand employer
relationships across industries and geographies. - Leverage alumni as advocates, hiring managers, and corporate champions to expand
domestic and international opportunities for students. - Build new partnerships with employers and alumni, serving as a trusted advisor on
recruiting strategies and workforce trends. - Consult with employers on recruiting strategies and maximize engagement through
recruiting events, and tailored partnerships. - Manage day-to-day processes, systems, events, and logistics.
Data-Driven Insights & Market Intelligence (10%)
- Partner with colleagues and leadership to collect, interpret, and share employer and
market data. - Use data to inform employer outreach strategies, identify gaps, and advise leadership on
hiring trends. - Present market insights to a variety of stakeholders to inform coaching, curriculum, and
priorities. - Benchmark strategies with peer institutions to ensure best-in-class practices.
Required Qualifications*
- Master's degree or MBA
- 7+ years of progressive experience in business development, employer relations,
corporate recruiting, or related fields. - 7+ years demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams and delivering
measurable outcomes. - 3+ years of developing and implementing strategies to successfully grow a business unit
or department. - 3+ years experience analyzing education/employment market trends.
- Background in higher education, talent acquisition, HR, consulting, or related industries.
Modes of Work

Additional Information
The posting range for this position is $90,000 - $116,000. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
