Job Summary

The Erb Institute is the business-sustainability partnership between the Ross School of Business and the School for Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan. Founded in 1996, the institute is recognized as a global leader in working with students, scholars, companies, nonprofits, and policymakers to improve the social, environmental, human rights, and diversity impact of business.

This role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI 3 days per week. Domestic travel (2-3x/year) and international travel (1-2x/year) may be required. You may work during early mornings, nights, or weekends. This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.

What You'll Do

As the Student Affairs Program Specialist, you will support the planning and execution of student-facing programs and events across the Erb Institute. This role plays a key part in student recruitment for the Dual Degree MBA/MS and Undergraduate Erb Fellows programs, manages application and data processes, and helps deliver a high-quality student experience from onboarding through graduation and transition to alumni. You will report to the Student Affairs Program Manager.

Responsibilities*

  • Lead and execute student recruitment strategies in collaboration with Erb Institute leadership.
  • Serve as primary contact for prospective students; deliver presentations across platforms and audiences. 
  • Manage application and review processes for student programs. 
  • Collect, analyze, and report on data to guide program decisions and improvements.
  • Co-lead student onboarding and offboarding activities, including events and communications. 
  • Support scholarship operations, including process development, data analysis, and budget monitoring. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with students, staff, faculty, and leadership.
  • Gather and act on feedback to enhance program operations. 
  • Contribute to Institute events, projects, and alumni engagement efforts.
  • Support alumni outreach, digital platforms, and event planning. 
  • Develop and publish recruiting content and stories via web and social media channels.
  • Collaborate on newsletters and institute communications.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Experienced in public speaking and comfortable presenting in-person and virtually.
  • Experience with project or event management. 
  • Proficiency with data management or CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Monday.com).
  • Experience working as a member of a team across different groups within the organization. 
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and related digital tools.

Additional Information

Salary Information:

The posting range for this position is $52,900 - $65,300. This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications,
and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
