Job Summary
KidSport Inclusive Summer Camp offers children ages 4-11 the opportunity to learn and play a variety of team sports, individual sports, team building games, fitness, and other physical education activities, in a non-competitive and fun sports environment. KidSport Inclusive is for children who do not require a high degree of personalized support to participate in large group physical activities. As always, children with disabilities are welcome in KidSport Inclusive depending on the level of support and personalization needed. Location: Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, MI. You will need to have transportation to this location.
Along with your application, please include a cover letter stating if you are applying for the counselor, lead counselor or both positions. Describe any experience you have working with or teaching children ages 4-11 years. List any sports you feel comfortable leading and/or those you have enjoyed playing yourself.
Required Qualifications*
Inclusive and Lead responsibilities:
- Provide quality instruction, coaching, and supervision to campers ages 4-11
- Plan daily activities using provided KidSport activity resources
- Help campers engage in physical activities
- Prepare and put away equipment daily
- Must be available for 9 weeks (June 15-August 14), Monday through Friday, from approximately 8am-4pm, with a lunch break from 12-1pm. No camp Thursday, July 2nd or Friday, July 3rd.
- Some staff will be needed until 5pm to supervise aftercare and others will be needed to help supervise lunch. No one will work over 40 hours/week
- Available for our paid camp orientation week, June 8-12, 2026.
Desired Qualifications*
- Leadership experience working with children in a physical activity setting
- Experience planning physical activities for children in a group setting
Modes of Work
