Job Summary
The INSPIRE - Industry Engagement Manager works to enhance industry-focused collaboration and strategic partnerships for project work within the CIT. You will be the primary staff liaison between INSPIRE CIT and industry. You will be a necessary part of the team to help cultivate partnerships, industry-sponsored projects, and align INSPIRE CIT initiatives with regional economic priorities. You will oversee the management of corporate projects, UM project teams, and the complex resources needed to facilitate outcomes. You will be a part of the Center for Industry & Strategic Partnerships for Innovation, Research, and Economic Growth (INSPIRE), and reports to the Director of INSPIRE.

Responsibilities*
Industry Relations
- Cultivate and steward INSPIRE CIT industry engagement strategies, through partnership coordination, and follow-up
- Partner with CIT Career Services to coordinate targeted corporate visits, industry networking events, and internship pipelines.
- Plan and implement relevant CIT INSPIRE industry events (presentation series, workshops, conferences, site visits or partner forums)
Innovation Partnerships
- Develop an understanding of industry partner challenges to help translate partner needs into applicable projects and to ensure projects and internships are aligned with industry needs.
- Communicate university policy to industry and faculty working with industry.
- Support INSPIRE Director in facilitating and maintaining correspondence and relationships with economic development organizations (e.g., MEDC, Flint & Genesee Group) to grow
- INSPIRE at CIT's role in regional and statewide innovation initiatives.
- Represent INSPIRE at industry events, economic forums, and corporate development workshops to enhance visibility and influence.
Project Management
- Provide administrative and logistical support for INSPIRE's projects, ensuring partners experience value and satisfaction.
- Support INSPIRE CIT's marketing, outreach, and branding efforts ensuring positioning as a hub for industry collaboration and innovation.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel with timelines, milestone markers, and outcomes. Support quarterly reporting requirements
Required Qualifications*
- Must be a current UM-Flint staff
- Bachelor's degree
- (3) or more years of relevant experience that is directly relevant to the job responsibilities of this position.
- Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software and other tools related to the job responsibilities

Modes of Work
Hybrid:
The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements.
