Responsibilities*
The University of Michigan School of Nursing (UMSN) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month clinical track faculty position, beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. We are seeking faculty with strong practice and academic experience and a proven record of teaching and scholarship who can contribute to the development and delivery of our academic programs. Ideal candidates will bring leadership experience in clinical, administrative, or executive healthcare settings, along with expertise in evidence-based practice, systems leadership, quality improvement, and organizational change.
Faculty will contribute to curriculum development, course design, program evaluation, and student mentorship, particularly in guiding scholarly and practice-focused projects. We value individuals who can integrate real-world leadership experience into the classroom, foster interprofessional collaboration, and support innovation in healthcare delivery while advancing the mission and strategic goals of the program.
Faculty will be responsible for didactic and/or clinical instruction in the undergraduate and/or graduate programs.
All undergraduate courses are delivered in person. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in clinical education, healthcare delivery, and student mentorship. Preference will be given to applicants with active clinical engagement and a passion for integrating practice, teaching, and scholarship.

Required Qualifications*
- Doctorate in Nursing,
- A nursing license in the State of Michigan is required for this position (current licensure or willingness to obtain licensure).
- Demonstrated excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in the development and implementation of innovative curricular activities.
- Demonstrated clinical teaching ability and practice excellence in a defined relevant area of clinical expertise.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and developing academic programs at all levels. Current clinical experience in a practice-relevant role.
- Evidence of increasing service to the profession and academic community.
- Collaborates with faculty regarding visionary educational programs.
- A record of scholarly attainment in the area of nursing clinical practice, including publications, evidence-based practice guidelines, and other forms of scholarship.
- Prior to the start date must be in compliance with all health requirements, including standard precautions such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, orientations, licenses/certifications, policies, and procedures, both internal and external to the University, for your assigned classroom(s) and/or clinical site(s).
