Responsibilities*

Develop and support the applications related to the U-M PCI environment and the U-M Identity & Access Management environment. Work on projects to enhance these environments using Python, Java, MySQL, Oracle, Splunk, CI/CD tools, REST/SOAP APIs, various web frameworks and libraries, Apache Tomcat and IIS, and complementary technologies commonly used for web application development. 

Specific duties include: collaborate with various groups (customers, business systems analysts, infrastructure staff, support staff) to address application issues or make enhancements; coordinate with team members and service support groups to effectively resolve incidents, requests, fixes, and minor enhancements (e.g., development, automation, CI/CD installation, configuration, customization, troubleshooting, upgrades, integration, and maintenance of systems); monitor applications and other systems for availability, error conditions, and performance; participate on service enhancement projects by identifying and quantifying customer requirements, delineating the gaps between customer requirements and the capabilities of existing technology and resources, and recommending proactive improvements. Up to 100% work from home.
 

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field 
  • + 5 years of experience to include experience with: PCI-compliant systems and secure data handling; SSO (SAML 2.0, JWT) and secure authentication flows; deploying apps on Apache Tomcat and building CI/CD pipelines; building and maintaining enterprise web apps using Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, and C#; implementing logging for monitoring/alerting; relational (SQL Server) databases; simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP)/REST application programming interfaces (API); frameworks/libraries: Spring (Boot, MVC, Batch, Security), Angular, jQuery, Bootstrap; and DevOps tools: GitLab CI/CD, Git, SVN, Github.
