Responsibilities*

- Establish and analyze Tgfbi knock out and transgenic mice +/- induction of type and type diabetes mellitus. This includes analyses of kidney tissue by immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), RNA-sequencing, scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics; analysis or urine and blood samples.

- Perform tissue culture experiments which includes exposure of human and non-human cultured cells to recombinant TGFBI and inhibitors of TGFBI and other related molecules, and analysis of cellular phenotype by detachment / adhesion assays, Western Blotting, IHC/IF, RNA-seq, qrt-PCR, co-IP, pull-down assay and other molecular biology assays.

- Interrogate proteins in human and mouse urine and blood samples using ELISA and other molecular biology assays. Perform statistical analysis of findings (with support from biostatistician).

- Preparation of manuscripts, presentations, meeting abstracts, grant proposals. 

Required Qualifications*

PhD in Molecular Biololgy or related fields.
Skills and experience with basic molecular methods including but not limited to processing/preserving/analyzing mammalian organ tissue (mice), culture of epithelial cells, immunohistochemistry (IHC), immunofluorescence (IF), Western Blotting, RNA-sequencing, ELISA. 
Willingness and ability to perform experimental work with rodents (mice). 
Experience with mouse work is preferred.

Background Screening
