Briarwood Medrehab is currently seeking a Rehabilitation Technician to join our outpatient team. We serve a diverse clinical population in orthopedic, neurologic, and general rehabilitation. The Rehabilitation Technician is responsible for assisting our Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapists in patient care, including exercises/interventions, supporting during two-person techniques, and with the application of various therapeutic modalities. Rehabilitation Technicians also assist with various clerical tasks, equipment monitoring, clinical cleanliness and inventory. In addition to these tasks, there is the opportunity to assist our Occupational Therapy team with clinical driving evaluations.
Responsibilities*
? Assist Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapists in direct patient care patient care, including: support during interventions and two-person techniques and support the set up and application of therapeutic modalities
? Work directly under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to set patients up on complex rehabilitation equipment
? Perform clinic cleaning duties and helping to maintain the clinic?s regulatory readiness
? Ordering and maintaining supply inventory
? Assisting the Occupational Therapy team with clinical driving evaluations
? Equipment monitoring
Required Qualifications*
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
Desired Qualifications*
- Some experience working with patients in ohysical or occupational therapy
- Ability to understand and communicate information in both verbal and written format.
- Competency in basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete regular tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of therapists and patients with different impairments.
- Mechanical aptitude for adjusting and setting up equipment.
- Ability to multi-task, anticipate needs, and attend to detail is very important
- Individual's seeking a career in rehabilitation are preferred

Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Work Schedule
Part-time (20 hours/week). Schedule will support our afternoon/evening hours until clinic closing. Clinic is open Monday-Thursday, 7am-7pm and Friday 7am-5pm.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
