Job Summary
The University of Michigan is accepting applications for a Big Ten Fellow position. The Big Ten Conference annually provides funding for an entry-level administrative position at each member institution. The fellowship is intended to provide access, recruitment and leadership development experience for candidates interested in intercollegiate athletics.
Responsibilities*
The selected fellow will be assigned projects within the Athletic Department and will report directly to the Associate Director of Academic Success, and will primarily perform duties within the Name, Image, and Likeness Department. The selected fellow may also be able to gain experience in preferred departments of their choosing.
This position will perform all duties in accordance with NCAA, Conference and University rules, regulations and policies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to research, compiling reports, planning and coordinating projects/events and other duties as assigned by unit leads, Athletic Department leadership, the Associate Director of Academic Success, and the Executive Assistant to the Athletic Director.
This is a one year appointment beinning August of 2026 and ending July 2027.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree
- Must be able to articulate interest in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletic administration
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and handle confidential information
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance information
Desired Qualifications*
- Previous athletics-related volunteer, temporary, or entry level experience
- Former student-athlete
- Knowledge of Big Ten rules
- Willingness and availability to work occasional evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours
