Job Summary

A Research Fellow position is available in the group of Prof. Alexey Nesvizhskii at the University of Michigan Medical School. The position will focus on developing computational algorithms and tools for the analysis of mass spectrometry-based proteomics data. Research projects will center on advancing the FragPipe computational platform, including new modules for DIA mass spectrometry data analysis. The successful candidate will also participate in collaborative studies. The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in bioinformatics or a related field, have a strong record of research productivity (e.g., publications and software) in mass spectrometry-based proteomics, and possess substantial experience developing algorithms and pipelines for proteomics data analysis within the FragPipe ecosystem.

Responsibilities*

  • Develop computational algorithms and tools for mass spectrometry data analysis.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the FragPipe computational platform.
  • Conduct data mining, visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Participate in collaborative research projects.
  • Publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals.

Required Qualifications*

  • Experience with mass spectrometry (especially DIA) and proteomics applications.
  • Strong programming skills (Python, Java) with proficiency in a Linux environment.
  • Experience with computational pipeline development.
  • Statistical analysis and data visualization skills.
  • PhD

Background Screening
