A total of one (1), 0.5 FTE Advanced Practice Professional (either NP or PA) will be hired to fill this job opening.

Responsibilities*
- Provides care to pediatric and young adult hematology/oncology patients.
- Oversees pediatric infusion center (infusion primarily for hematology, oncology, and gastroenterology patients) and responds to urgent medical needs.
- Coordinates care between multi-disciplinary team, including outpatient, infusion, and inpatient care teams.
- Evaluates patients in outpatient pediatric hematology/oncology clinic, both under supervision of physician and independently.
- Orders outpatient chemotherapy under physician supervisions.
- Performs procedures, including bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, and intrathecal chemotherapy administration.
- Collaborates with clinical nurses on patient education, support, and care coordination, including via telephone encounters.
- Assists in admission of pediatric hematology/oncology patients to hospital.
- Consults with other hospital providers on patient care.
- Assumes additional duties as needed and works within scope of licensure.
Required Qualifications*
Required Qualifications: Nurse Practitioner
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner specialty certification in the State of Michigan.
- Current specialty certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Michigan OR as a Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Family Nurse Practitioner with 2 years of RN or NP experience managing pediatric hematology/oncology patients.
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
- DEA license
- PALS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
- Two or more years of clinical experience in inpatient pediatric hematology/oncology
- Two or more years of advanced practice provider experience
Required Qualifications: Physician Assistant
- Current licensure to practice in the State of Michigan.
- Satisfactory completion of physician assistant program accredited by ARC-PA or one of its predecessors agencies.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- DEA license
- PALS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
- Two or more years of clinical experience in inpatient pediatric hematology/oncology
- Two or more years of advanced practice provider experience

Full Time Salary range: $130,630 - $200,734 / year

Work Schedule
20 hours per week
Primary daytime coverage with potential for off shifts
Location: Trinity Health Oakland with potential crossover at C.S. Mott Childrens Hospital
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
