Job Summary

The Department of Radiation Oncology's MROQC CQI is seeking a Research Assistant (Temp) for Summer 2026. This internship will play a vital role in a large-scale database transition project, moving our clinical data from Drupal/SQL with LimeSurvey/Qualtrics to REDCap. This role is ideal for a graduate student looking to gain hands-on experience in real-world database migration, data management, and applied analytics within a healthcare quality consortium. The intern will work closely with our core data analyst team, the REDCap Project Manager, and the managing director.

Responsibilities*

  • Database Migration: Assist in the transition of large-scale datasets from Drupal/SQL to REDCap.
  • Variable Mapping: Map variables across systems and maintain rigorous documentation of all changes and logic.
  • Data Validation: Track data availability across datasets to ensure integrity between the old dataset and the new REDCap structure.
  • SAS Development: Assist in writing, testing, and executing SAS code to facilitate the transfer of data between platforms.
  • Collaborative Problem Solving: Participate in team meetings and troubleshooting sessions to address data discrepancies or workflow challenges.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Current Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a related graduate program (e.g., Data Science, Public Health, or Health Informatics).
  • Technical Skills: * Familiarity with SAS and/or REDCap is highly desirable.
  • Experience with data cleaning, auditing, and/or data modeling is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills and a "team-first" mentality.
    • A high degree of curiosity and a willingness to learn new technical tools quickly.
