Job Summary

This is a 50% (20 hours/week) One-Year Term Limited Position

This 50% one-year term limited appointment involves two related projects, each requiring strong organizational and writing skills, familiarity with relevant literature, and a desire to learn procedures related to human subjects' applications, data management and analysis, grant writing, and scholarly publishing. Successful candidates will also demonstrate expertise in collaborative work with schools and an interest in providing professional development to school staff and community partners throughout the state of Michigan.

The two projects include (1) a statewide survey assessment and technical assistance training program in social emotional learning for K-12 schools, early childhood centers, and out-of-school-time organizations; and (2) a readiness study to promote the use of trauma-informed programs and practices for rural schools in Michigan.

Required Qualifications*

  • Familiarity with research on childhood adversities, trauma, and social emotional learning.
  • Experience in data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in scholarly writing.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Desired Qualifications*

  • MSW or equivalent degree in the social sciences (as of 5/15/2026).
  • Experience with grant writing.
  • Skills in evaluation.
  • Experience with human subjects' applications, data management, and project management.

Modes of Work
