Job Summary

Assist Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, and Athletic Trainers in the delivery of physical therapy treatment programs and their associated functions. Specifically, the sports medicine team operates in a busy, interdisciplinary clinic providing individualized care programs that target optimal patient outcomes.  As a member of the Therapy Services team, the duties you perform are essential for the efficient and effective operation of the clinic. 

Responsibilities*

  • Prepare treatment area, mobility equipment, exercise equipment, and/or ambulatory aids for patient care.
  • Transfer patients to and from exercise equipment or treatment mats/tables/beds.
  • Perform treatment procedures in accordance with programs planned by the Physical Therapist, Physical Therapist Assistant, or Athletic Trainer.
  • Provides additional physical assistance during the provision of patient care.
  • Participates in ongoing maintenance programs for patient care equipment.
  • Responsible for inventory and maintaining a sufficient quantity of treatment supplies.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Process patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas.
  • Complete inventory analytics and supply ordering.
  • Act as patient chaperone.
  • Assist with return to sport functional testing.
  • Assist with teaching Aquatic Exercise class.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires extensive standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.

Required Qualifications*

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Ability to understand and communicate information both orally and in writing is necessary.
  • Some experience in working with patients in physical or occupational therapy.
  • Experience or degree in movement science, pre-physical therapy, pre-athletic training or pre-physician assistant programs.
  • Background in sports, sports medicine or athletic injury management.

Modes of Work

Work Schedule

The hours of operation for this clinic are Monday thru Friday, 7 am to 730 pm.  Work shift hours will be determined by management.

This position is located at MedSport Dominos Farms.
