Course Description
Overview of GSI Position: The Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education is seeking a current doctoral student to serve as Graduate Student Instructor (GSI) for EDUC 793 (Introduction to Quantitative Methods in Educational Research) in Fall 2026 and EDUC 795 (Quantitative Methods for Non-Experimental Research) in Winter 2027. The GSI will be the primary instructor for the lab sessions, and will lead labs, in consultation with the instructor (Dr. Walt Ecton). Lab instruction and activities will largely focus on building applied quantitative analysis skills, with an emphasis on coding in Stata. Class sessions will be held Tuesdays from 1-4 PM, and lab sessions will be Thursdays 9-11 AM. In addition to leading labs, the GSI will hold one office hour per week and will support grading for the course. The GSI will also hold one 20-minute consultation with each student for their final projects.
