Job Summary

The IHP-Dearborn team is seeking a candidate as part of the project, Institutional Memory and Intergenerational Solidarity: Oral Histories of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. This project explores the history of creating the Women's and Gender Studies, Women in Learning and Leadership, and LGBTQ Studies programs at UM-Dearborn. 

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of one or more of these programs of study; interest or experience in oral history and archival research; and familiarity with or strong interest in learning to use Adobe Premiere Pro and the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS). Training in these systems will be provided and paid.

Responsibilities*

At the Research Assistant I level, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: editing audio interviews and interview transcripts, linking the interviews to relevant archival materials, and assisting with the launch of the public archive.

All work can be done from home.

The candidate will be joining our team for the final month of this grant project. Hours are flexible.

Required Qualifications*

  • Graduated or enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program in any field
  • At least one course in Women's and Gender Studies or LGBTQ Studies and/or knowledge of the Women in Learning and Leadership program at UM-Dearborn

Desired Qualifications*

  • Past participation in research projects
  • Knowledge of or experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and the Oral History Metadata Synchronizer (OHMS) is a plus
