Job Summary

The College of Business at the University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking applications for multiple positions as an adjunct lecturer in Accounting, starting August 2026. The position will be responsible for teaching courses in one or more of the following areas: introductory and intermediate Financial Accounting, introductory Managerial Accounting, and Governmental and Not-for-Profit Accounting. The ability to teach both in-person and online or a hybrid using traditional materials and experiential-oriented practice sets is required, along with being open to try new approaches. Being able to do so at the graduate level is preferred but not required.

Required Qualifications*

Successful candidates must have a university degree, a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA or CMA, or others) and at least three years of recent professional experience, preferably in a technology-intensive setting. Other professional qualifications, previous experience teaching accounting at the university level, and/or a history of scholarly research and publications, are also highly valued. Teaching will include night classes but the ability to teach during the day twice per week for a half day is also highly valued.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
