Job Summary

The Research Laboratory Specialist Senior will oversee the day-to-day operations of a newly established cancer biology research laboratory. In this role, you will independently lead the design, execution, and analysis of complex experimental studies investigating the glioblastoma tumor microenvironment.

Responsibilities*

  • Independently design, execute, and analyze complex experimental studies focused on glioblastoma.
  • Develop and implement robust laboratory protocols for both in vitro and in vivo models, specifically utilizing patient-derived organoid and assembloid models, bioengineered extracellular matrix (ECM) systems, and mouse models of glioblastoma.
  • Generate and process spatial proteomics and transcriptomics datasets in coordination with the computational team.
  • Train and supervise junior laboratory personnel in techniques, safety procedures, and experimental standards. 
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, figure generation, and grant reporting. 
  • Manage laboratory resources, regulatory compliance, and budget tracking for experimental operations. 
  • Partner closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and computational team members to integrate experimental findings with spatial multi-omics data.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree in a recognized field of science or learning that is directly related to the duties of the position.
  • 5 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage and supervise junior researchers.
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, mouse models, and advanced fluorescence microscopy.

Desired Qualifications*

  • PhD or Master's degree preferred in cancer biology, cell biology, immunology, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on laboratory research experience.
  • Experience with spatial omics or multiplexed imaging approaches is strongly preferred.

Additional Information

This is a one-year term limited appointment, with the possibility of renewal or promotion based on performance.
