Job Summary

The CSE Course Support Administrator provides administrative support for large courses in the Computer Science and Engineering Division of the EECS Department. Responsibilities include managing exam logistics, and general administrative course support working with faculty, Graduate Student Instructors, Instructional Aides, graders and enrolled students.
 

Responsibilities*

25%-Exam logistics and coordination of students needing accommodations and students with conflicts. Communication with students, teaching staff and faculty

20%-Responding to administrative student requests, and logistical support for meetings with teaching staff and students

15%-Communication and coordination of course infrastructure with other University units, including the Office of the Registrar, Services for Students with Disabilities, Testing Accommodation Center, and Instructional Support Services, among others.


10%-Maintaining student and course documentation including illness and disability documentation, teaching staff information, course schedule, and announcements


20%-Providing administrative support for course-related activities including teaching staff, staff team meetings, Learning Management System ( e.g. Canvas), exams and course assignments.

10%-Other duties as assigned
 

Required Qualifications*

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Computer skills including, email, Google Sheets/Excel, web-based applications, and willingness to learn new computer skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently. 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience working with students
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures including FERPA
  • Experience with Instructional Support Services (ISS)
  • Event planning skills.

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.  Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Additional Information

This position is designated as a seasonal, full-time appointment. The anticipated work schedule is from mid-August through mid-May, with a non-working period from mid-May through mid-August each year. The posted pay range reflects the compensation for a 12-month, full-time position; however, annual earnings will be prorated to reflect nine months of active employment during the seasonal appointment period.

This position is included in the bargaining unit represented by the University Staff United (USU), which represents bargaining unit members in all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
