Job Summary
The Department of Recreational Services is seeking student staff to supervise the Recreation Center for the fall and winter semesters. Staff will be responsible for helping create a welcoming and safe environment, and must have prior experience working in a recreation facility or similar setting with minimal supervision. Shifts will be early mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities*
- Opening and closing the building
- Providing quality customer service
- Understanding front desk and weight room policies and procedures.
- Additional responsibilities include assisting student staff while responding to emergencies and providing first aid when necessary.
Required Qualifications*
- Must be a current UM-Flint student
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion
- Ability to obtain CPR/AED First Aid certification.
- Experience working in a recreation setting.
Modes of Work
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan.
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
