Job Summary
The Brighton Center for Specialty Care is the newest University of Michigan Ambulatory Care facility dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. The new 2-story facility is located at 7500 Challis Rd. Brighton MI. Provide safe, effective, and specialized nursing care in an ambulatory care specialty suite with primary coverage (but not limited to) cardiology and cardiac rehab
Clinical duties include:
- Use clinical knowledge and reasoning, and critical thinking to assess and evaluate needs of patients.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and services to provide high quality effective patient care.
- Direct outpatient clinical support through both telephone triage and direct in-clinic needs supporting a seamless delivery of care.
- Procedural based support including but not limited to IV start and administration of medications and image enhancing therapy during cardiology studies, observation of patients during these procedures
- Participate in the coordination of care, including testing, medication management, collaborative planning of care, support of self-management by patients/families, direct work with patient compliance around hypertension management, and management of emergency situations, etc.

Required Qualifications*
- Current RN license to practice nursing in Michigan.
- Three years (3) recent inpatient or ambulatory cardiovascular care experience
- ACLS certified

Nursing Specific Info
Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position. Posting may be filled after the initial 5-day posting period. Applicants who have left the UMPNC bargaining unit must include on their resume dates of past employment including months and years of service along with effort. Positions less than 20 hours/week may be combined.

Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Work Schedule
Hours: 24 hours one week, 16 hours the following week (totaling 40hr/paycheck or 0.5 FTE)
Shift: Day shifts
Location: Brighton Center for Specialty Care This is an on-site patient facing position. May also cover other Cardiology clinics.
Note: All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census
Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
