Responsibilities*
- Welcome and check patients in for the Graduate Orthodontics and Faculty Practice clinics.
- Manage phone calls by triaging calls, retrieving messages, calling patients to address concerns and scheduling appointments.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Determine existence of previous registration if applicable and verify and update insurance information for existing patients of record.
- Accurately verify patient information, including demographic details, medical history, and insurance coverage.
- If new patient, complete registration documentation in eHR system.
- Scan patient paperwork, insurance cards, ID into EPIC.
- Secure patients signature on FAs if applicable
- Manage daily work queues.
- Check patients out
- Collect payments, co-pays and past due balances at patient check in/out using the established department/school guidelines.
- Reconcile daily cash and credit card patients
- Enter Codes into the eHR system for patient financial liability
- Maintain and review schedule daily to ensure patient balances are collected at the start of the appointment
- Display excellent customer service and attitude towards patients, students/residents, faculty and staff.
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required with some college preferred.
- Considerable clerical experience is necessary.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with an extremely busy and hectic clinic environment.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel and Dropbox.
- Knowledge of dental insurance plans.
- Welcoming personality.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a busy clinical environment.
- Excellent attendance record.
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Knowledge of dental terminology.
- Knowledge of EPIC.
- Familiarity with the Dental School.

Additional Information
