University Unions drives community building and belonging through the integration of its three student union facilities (Michigan Union, Michigan League, Pierpont Commons), Center for Campus Involvement, Campus Information, meeting/event spaces, retail food, bookstore and other services to support student success. UU works in close partnership with Palmer Commons, an academic meeting facility, Conferences & Event Services and Michigan Dining to provide student-focused and customer-oriented service to the campus.
Position Summary:
The Temporary Administrative Assistant provides administrative, operational, and customer service support to the Center for Campus Involvement (CCI). The position supports daily office operations, front desk services, and routine administrative needs. The Temporary Administrative Assistant reports to the CCI Director/UU Senior Associate Director.
Responsibilities*
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative and operational support for CCI, including calendars, meetings, scheduling, supplies, and other routine office needs.
- Provide regular CCI front desk coverage, respond to and route inquiries, and provide routine information and referrals related to CCI, student organizations, programs and services, vendor sales, University Unions, and other University resources.
- Work alongside CCI student desk assistants and provide functional direction for routine front desk tasks and daily priorities as needed.
- Assist with routing documents through appropriate processes.
- Provide backup administrative support for the Maize Pages student organization management system, including processing routine forms and submissions.
- Provide routine operational support for the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC) as needed, including supply inventory and collecting and routing materials to designated locations.
Other duties as assigned consistent with the temporary administrative nature of the position.
NOTE: This temporary position is expected to end in January 2027.
Required Qualifications*
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of administrative support experience or equivalent experience involving similar complexity and responsibility.
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google software.
Desired Qualifications*
- Familiarity with University of Michigan administrative processes.
- Experience working with college students.

Working Conditions:
Must be able to work 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, at a computer in an open office workspace.
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive tasks at a desk
- Periodically transport items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds, etc.
This role may have reporting obligations under Title IX and Clery.

Salary may vary depending on qualifications, experience, and education of the selected candidate.
Relocation will not be offered for this role.
