Job Summary

The Jones Family Center at C.S. Mott Children's & Von Voigtlander Women's Hospitals is seeking an energetic and motivated individual for a full-time seasonal position to support daily operations of the center from October 2026 through January 2027. 

Responsibilities*

The Jones Family Center is a gathering space for patients and families at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. This role involves, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Welcoming families 
  • Setting-up/cleaning up crafts of the day
  • Stocking crafts and snacks 
  • Holiday donation intake and sorting 
  • Package intake and unpacking
  • Supporting our Giving Library within the space 
  • Ensuring cleanliness of the space
  • Providing a supportive environment for families during their hospital stay
  • Providing positive interactions with donors and community groups
  • Some data entry 

Required Qualifications*

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Data entry skills 
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills, including problem solving and collaboration
  • Ability to maintain a safe and organized environment; including but not limited to, restocking equipment and supplies, cleaning and arranging furniture
  • Ability to work independently and stay on task
  • This position requires frequent standing/walking, as well as lifting boxes, and pushing carts of donations to and from various storage areas 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Associates degree in related field and/or a combination of education and experience
  • Prior work experience with healthy children in a group setting (daycare, day camp, preschool, school, etc.)
  • Prior work experience in a healthcare environment preferred

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
