Job Summary

As a Patient Services Associate, you will provide basic customer service and clerical support to patients in the School of Dentistry, including, but not limited to, the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities*

  • Opens, closes and maintains clinic schedules for Graduate Periodontics. 
  • Schedules surgeries including surgeries requiring IV sedation, and other patient appointments. 
  • Coordinates same day appointments with other clinics and offices. 
  • Financial counselor to patients-goes over treatment plans. 
  • Configures and collects amount due from patient. 
  • Reconciles cash and credit card payments. 
  • Requests prior authorizations and looks up ICD-10 codes. 
  • Manages all aspects of internal and external referrals after patient is assigned to a resident.
  • Registers new patients, sends out new patient packets. 
  • Answers calls and voicemails. 
  • Schedules as appropriate or triages to appropriate place. 
  • Greets and checks in/out patients and gives parking passes. 
  • Verifies demographics. 
  • Back-up support for DFA Perio and info desk. 
  • Supports and interacts with all faculty, staff, and Residents.
  • Works daily and monthly reports. also provides reports to the program director as required. 
  • Prepares adjustments for supervisor to review and sign. 
  • Retrieves and Distributes mail.
     

Required Qualifications*

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications*

  • 1 year of customer service experience.

Additional Information

We are committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for everyone. As part of the onboarding process, all candidates are required to submit their immunization records to Occupational Health Services (OHS) prior to their appointment start date to verify their immunization status. The process includes completing a two-step TB test for all new hires and providing proof of Hepatitis B immunization for clinic-facing roles. Additional immunizations may be necessary based on public health guidance or specific job responsibilities.
